GWM Haval H7 dealer pricing leaks: $45,990 start for hybrid RAV4 rival

Dealer-issued pricing shows the H7 Lux HEV at $46,990 before on-road costs, with a $1,000 discount until November 30, 2026.

GWM Haval's new-generation H7 SUV will carry a promotional starting price of $45,990 before on-road costs, according to pricing issued to dealers and reported by CarExpert. That undercuts the cheapest Toyota RAV4 in Australian showrooms, the GX 2WD hybrid at $45,990 before on-road costs, though GWM Australia has not officially confirmed the figure.

The second-generation H7 was revealed earlier this year with boxier styling and a promise of a starting price below $50,000. Dealers are already receiving customer stock and order books are open, with the official launch scheduled for November 2, 2026.

Two grades, two powertrains

The H7 will be offered in Australia in two grades, Lux and Vanta, both with standard all-wheel drive and a choice of hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. It launches with five seats, and GWM Australia has confirmed seven-seat versions will join the lineup in 2027.

The H7 Lux HEV has an official starting price of $46,990 before on-road costs, but GWM will offer $1,000 off until November 30, 2026, bringing it to $45,990 and into line with the entry-level RAV4 GX 2WD hybrid.

The PHEV powertrain costs $4,000 more. The H7 Lux PHEV starts at $50,990 before on-road costs, or $49,990 with the same $1,000 discount until November 30, 2026. That compares with the RAV4 PHEV's starting price of $58,840 before on-road costs for the XSE 2WD grade, and the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV ES AWD at $58,990 before on-road costs.

The H7 Vanta HEV starts at $49,990 before on-road costs, while the Vanta PHEV kicks off at $53,990 before on-road costs.

Equipment and paint options

Standard equipment on the Lux includes 19-inch alloy wheels, a 15.6-inch centre touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display and automatic parking assist. Hamilton White paint is included, with grey, black and green finishes costing an additional $595.

The Vanta adds a locking rear differential, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and ambient lighting.

Range, battery and fuel economy not yet announced

GWM has not published range, battery size or fuel economy figures for the H7 in the material available. Those details have not been announced for the Australian market, and the sources do not specify a test cycle for any future figures. Buyers will need to wait for the official launch on November 2, 2026 for confirmed specifications.

Official pricing still to come

GWM Australia would not confirm or deny the dealer pricing when approached by CarExpert, issuing a statement: "The new GWM Haval H7 will offer competitive pricing for its all-wheel drive, all-hybrid lineup, and we look forward to sharing the good news with customers awaiting its arrival across the GWM national dealer network".

An official announcement is imminent, with the official launch scheduled for November 2, 2026.

Porsche recalls 548 more US cars over center-lock wheels that can fracture

The expanded recall adds 548 vehicles to 1,851 recalled in October 2024, and Porsche is telling owners to stop driving until the fix is done.

Porsche is recalling another 548 vehicles in the United States because the center-lock wheel fastening system can fracture, potentially letting a wheel come off while the car is moving. The campaign covers some of its fastest and most track-focused 2024 models, including the 911 Carrera GTS, 911 Turbo S, 718 Cayman GT4 RS and 911 S/T.

It follows a recall of 1,851 vehicles in October 2024 for the same problem, and Porsche is telling owners to stop driving their cars until repairs are completed.

Which models are affected

The 2024 911 Carrera GTS accounts for the largest share, with 168 units built between June 7 and October 23, 2024. The 2024 911 Turbo S adds 94 cars built from June 10 to September 3, 2024, and the 718 Cayman GT4 RS adds 73.

The rest of the campaign covers 70 examples of the 2024 718 Spyder RS, 50 911 GT3s, 41 911 GT3 RSs, 39 limited-edition 911 S/Ts and 13 regular 911 Turbos.

Why the recall was widened

Porsche was alerted to center-lock component fractures in the field in May and August, and an investigation found that more components could be faulty than the initial 2024 recall indicated, prompting this additional campaign. The components in the center wheel fastening system may have been manufactured out of specification and can fracture.

A wheel coming loose at speed is a danger not only to the driver but to other motorists and pedestrians. That is why this recall carries a stop-driving instruction, unlike the software fix Porsche issued late last year for more than 173,000 US vehicles whose reversing camera image could fail to appear. The contrast is a useful guide for owners: a camera glitch can wait for a dealer appointment, a wheel that might detach cannot.

What owners should do

Owners will be notified over the next couple of weeks by email, phone, the MyPorsche App and letter. Dealers will inspect the wheel fastening system and replace any parts that do not meet the brand's specifications.

Porsche has not announced a timeline for when replacement parts will be available, so owners should treat the stop-driving advice as standing until their car has been inspected and repaired. Anyone who notices significant vibrations while driving should park immediately until the car can be fixed.
