Jeep has opened orders for the 2027 Compass, with the compact SUV now starting at $31,985 including a $1,995 destination charge. The price rise arrives alongside new standard adaptive cruise control on the base Latitude and Latitude Altitude trims, equipment the lineup previously lacked.
The move pushes Jeep's cheapest model further into territory shared by compact SUVs that now clear $30,000 for 2027. It is the second straight model year in which the brand's entry point has climbed.
What the 2027 Compass costs
Above the base Latitude, the Limited trim starts at $36,145, while the Trailhawk, the Trail Rated off-road variant, opens at $36,645. The Limited Altitude is the exception to the upward trend: at $37,140 it costs $1,005 less than the same trim in 2026, a $995 premium over the standard Limited that Jeep is clearly trying to make easier to justify.
That discount is the number worth remembering. Buyers who want the extra equipment without the Trailhawk's off-road hardware get a smaller step up than before, which narrows the gap between the volume Limited and its better-equipped sibling.
Equipment changes across the range
Adaptive cruise control is now standard on the Latitude and Latitude Altitude, closing a gap that had dogged the Compass lineup for years. Limited, Limited Altitude and Trailhawk trims add a wireless charging pad and second-row USB ports as standard, items that were optional or unavailable on last year's equivalents.
An optional Premium Lighting Group brings LED headlights, taillights and fog lights to those three trims, and a Driver Assist Package adds a 360-degree camera and a universal garage door opener. Jeep is also adding four late-availability colours: Ghost, Copper Shino, Goldilocks and a shade called '41.
Powertrain and what comes next
Every 2027 Compass keeps the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder, rated at 200 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. Jeep cites best-in-class standard horsepower, torque and maximum towing rather than a specific tow rating.
The 2027 model year marks the Compass nameplate's 20th anniversary. Stellantis has said a future Compass will move to a different platform, but it has not confirmed powertrains or a detailed timeline beyond that. Buyers weighing a 2027 car against waiting should know that the next-generation model's launch date and engines have not been announced.
