Ineos Grenadier Helmsman is a nautical special edition priced from £70,995

The 2027-only edition adds Arcane Works blue paint and a Dark Exterior Pack to both the Station Wagon and Quartermaster pickup, with order books open now.

Ineos has opened order books for the Grenadier Helmsman, a nautical-themed special edition joining the lineup for the 2027 model year. It is offered on both the Station Wagon and the Quartermaster pickup, with UK prices starting at £70,995, about $94,700.

The edition is the first in a planned rotating series built around the different elements the Grenadier was designed to handle, and it will run for a limited production window before the next themed version arrives.

Nautical styling inside and out

The headline change is a deep blue paint finish first developed for Ineos's Arcane Works models, now offered more widely on this edition. Buyers choose from Eldoret Blue and Scottish White as standard, or step up to the Whiteout Blue metallic shade previously reserved for Arcane Works builds.

Every colour can be paired with a contrast roof in Inky Black or Scottish White.

A Dark Exterior Pack bundles a black grille, dark skidplates and new matte black roof rails, and the truck rides on 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Exclusive badging, privacy glass and locking wheel nuts are fitted, plus a rear access ladder or a load bay tub depending on body style.

Inside there are heated leather seats with new oyster-coloured inserts, carpet floor mats laid over heavy-duty wash-down rubber flooring, and the Smooth Pack, which adds ambient lighting, front parking sensors and auxiliary electrical points.

Why a boat-friendly Grenadier

Global sales director Sagree Sardien tied the theme to the truck's towing and load-carrying role, saying Ineos combined popular design features from previous limited editions with new oceanic hues to create what the brand calls the ideal 4x4 for watersports enthusiasts and seafarers.

Sardien also linked the launch to sales momentum, noting three quarters of double-digit growth and a model line-up evolution aimed at attracting new customers to the brand.

The timing is no accident. Special editions have become a familiar way to keep boxy off-roaders fresh, a trend seen recently with Range Rover's limited-run SV models and BMW's retro-coloured specials. For Ineos, a halo trim costs little to develop and keeps the Grenadier in the news between larger updates.

How long it stays on sale

Ineos has not said how long the Helmsman production window will last, nor named the element-inspired edition that follows it.

US pricing and availability for the edition have not been announced either.

The Grenadier launched in 2022 as Ineos Automotive's first vehicle, with the double-cab Quartermaster pickup following in 2023.

Chevrolet brings back the Desert Boss package for the 2027 Colorado ZR2

The off-road bundle returns as a dealer-installed option with Multimatic Jounce Control dampers, while the whole range gains a stronger turbocharged four-cylinder.

Chevrolet is reviving the Desert Boss package for the 2027 Colorado, two years after quietly dropping it from the order books. The bundle of off-road gear will once again be tied to the ZR2, but this time buyers will get it fitted by the dealer rather than straight from the factory.

The package arrives alongside a bigger change for the whole range: GM's updated turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder, which lifts output to 350 hp and 450 lb-ft.

The original Desert Boss launched in 2023 as a factory special and lasted a single year. It bundled a bull bar, roof-mounted light bar, rear sports bar and 17-inch wheels wearing 33-inch tyres.

What the 2027 package includes

The revived Desert Boss Special Edition carries a special off-road front bumper, a distinctive lighting package, Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers, Tech Bronze-finished recovery hooks, door sill plates and front-fender decals.

The headline item is the damper hardware. Jounce Control dampers are nitrogen-charged hydraulic bump stops designed to work alongside Multimatic's DSSV dampers. On the current Colorado ZR2 they are a $2,583 option, though they come standard on the ZR2 Bison.

Unlike the 2023 car, the 2027 package will be sold exclusively as a dealer-installed option, and Chevrolet will not offer it alongside the Bison or Midnight packages.

Pricing for the new package has not been announced. For reference, the 2023 edition added $9,295 to a regular Colorado's sticker.

A stronger engine across the range

The 2027 Colorado also switches to GM's updated turbocharged 2.7-litre inline-four, known internally as the L4B, which replaces the L3B. The engine is already fitted to the 2027 Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, and it is rated at 350 hp and 450 lb-ft, up from 310 hp and 430 lb-ft.

That is a meaningful gain for a truck whose appeal rests on towing, hauling and off-road pace, and it brings the Colorado into line with its full-size siblings' latest engine. Pricing for the 2027 model year has not been announced either.
